It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
For me
And I’m feeling good

Excerpt from “Feelin’ Good” by Nina Simone

And so it begins! It seemed fitting that as I sat down to write this blog the song Feelin’ Good by Nina Simone came on. I am excited to explore this new chapter in my life as I launch the Daditude Coach. For those that know me they know I’m passionate about the life-transforming work I get to do in this world as a coach, where I get to help people overcome challenges and obstacles on their way to creating a powerful impact in the world around them. I’m also ardently passionate about being a father and husband, and knowing the hurdles I’ve had to leap along the way has inspired me to work towards helping other men feel more empowered to become more engaged in the lives of their own children. It only makes sense that the two things would one day blend together, and thus this new endeavor was born.

This blog will be a combination of coaching and leadership tips, life lessons and musings as a father, and hopefully serve as some inspiration (or at the very least some amusement) for people. I will also happily share resources and introduce you to other people who inspire me and are making a meaningful difference in the world, as I believe part of my role is to help people authentically connect.

Full disclosure right up front: I don’t have all the answers, I don’t know everything, and I’m far from perfect. I’m human, and I do my best, which is all I can ask of anyone else in return. I make mistakes, learn from them, and laugh as much as I can.

One other promise I’m going to make for this blog: these entries won’t be lengthy! I know we all have a lot going on, so my intent is to create some bite-sized items that can be read without having to block a big chunk of time out of your calendar. As a working parent with more external commitments than my wife probably likes (though she lovingly supports me), I want to honor the time you take to read these.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you, and always welcome comments and feedback.

Let’s get started!
